I got an email the other day from a former brokerage that I had a savings account with. In the email I was informed that the etrade savings account that I had, had been transferred to Discover Bank. When I navigated over to the Discover Bank site I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Discover Bank savings account offered a 1.34% interest rate that yielded 1.35% with no minimum balance. There are many banks that are offering online savings accounts with a rate that is usually better than you will get from a local bank. One of the best rates being offered is by Dollar Savings Direct.
